Gurus — Privacy policy

This page is the Gurus app privacy notice. It is in addition to our website privacy policy and to information shown on Google Play.

Premium app

Gurus is a premium app and requires paid credits to get advice and coaching. That is our business model. Your personal data is never collected or sold for unrelated commercial purposes. We respect your privacy and aim for the app to be operated in line with GDPR (European privacy law).

Data

All coaching you receive is only saved locally on your device. That local content is not transmitted to Appfinity so we can read or store your conversations on our servers.

When you use AI features, your questions and the generated coaching content may be processed by OpenAI and may be used by OpenAI to train and improve their models, as described in their policies. Read their privacy statement here: openai.com/privacy.

Gurus is designed to avoid unnecessary sensitive Android permissions; see the current Play Store listing for the exact permissions requested.

Account and support

The Google account you select to sign in (for example yourname@gmail.com) is stored on our server for authentication. That way you can use your Gurus credits on multiple devices and move them when you get a new phone. We also use your account to provide user support and to communicate with you if you have questions about the app or your privacy.

If you use Gurus with sign-in, you consent to this processing under GDPR (Articles 6 and 7) where consent applies. If you no longer want to use the app, you can request that your Google account is removed from our servers using the Contact page on this website or the delete account option inside the app, when available.

Development (analytics and stability)

Gurus uses Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics SDKs. These SDKs may process information such as your device brand, model, and system-related settings. We use this to monitor performance, fix crashes and bugs, and add new features to the app.
